Prohibitions of the Prophet Muhammad

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) forbade 'Ali bin Abi Talib from wearing gold rings, wearing a blend of linen and silk, reciting the Qur'an while bowing and prostrating, and wearing clothes dyed with safflower.

It was narrated that 'Ali bin Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه) said: The Messenger of Allah forbade me to wear gold rings, to wear a blend of linen and silk, to recite Qur'an when bowing and prostrating and to wear clothes dyed with safflower.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَنْ التَّخَتُّمِ بِالذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لِبَاسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَعَنْ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ وَعَنْ لِبَاسِ الْمُعَصْفَرِ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibitions that were given by the Prophet Muhammad to Ali bin Abi Talib. The Prophet forbade Ali from wearing gold rings, a blend of linen and silk, reciting Qur'an when bowing or prostrating in prayer, and wearing clothes dyed with safflower. These prohibitions are important for Muslims to remember as they are part of Islamic teachings that should be followed. By following these teachings we can show our respect for Allah's commands as well as our love for His Messenger.
