Respect those who have come before you and done great deeds for your ummah .

In this hadith, Ali bin Abi Talib is informing us about who are the best people in our ummah after our beloved prophet Muhammad. He mentions three names; Abu Bakr, then 'Umar and then another man. This hadith teaches us that we should respect and honor those who have come before us and have done great deeds for our ummah. We should also strive to be like them by doing good deeds for others and following in their footsteps. It also teaches us that we should always remember to give credit where it is due and recognize those who have made a difference in our lives or in society as a whole.
