Prohibitions of Wearing Gold Rings, Red Clothing, and Reciting Quran While Bowing & Prostrating

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) forbade 'Ali from wearing gold rings, wearing red, and reciting the Quran while bowing and prostrating.

It was narrated that 'Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: The Messenger of Allah forbade me to wear gold rings, to wear red, and to recite Qur'an whilst bowing and prostrating.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الْمُبَارَكِيُّ، سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ جَارُ خَلَفٍ الْبَزَّارِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو شِهَابٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَنْ خَاتَمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْحُمْرَةِ وَعَنْ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ‏.‏

This hadith is about the prohibitions that were given to Ali by the Prophet Muhammad.
