QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Allah's commands regarding clothing & accessories
EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Abu Ishaq tells us that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) prohibited his companion 'Ali from wearing certain items of clothing or accessories. Specifically, he was forbidden to wear gold rings, garments made of a blend of linen and silk, as well as using red saddle cloths. This hadith teaches us that we should not indulge in extravagance when it comes to our clothing or accessories; rather we should strive for simplicity in our dress sense. It also serves as a reminder that Allah has set limits for us which must not be exceeded; if we do so then we will have gone against His commands. Furthermore, this hadith also encourages us to follow the example set by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He was known for his simple lifestyle and this is something which all Muslims should strive to emulate in their own lives.
