Musnad Ahmad 740 (Book 5, Hadith 173) #34399
Reciting Prayers Before Bedtime

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ advised Fatimah (??? ???? ????) to recite certain phrases before going to bed instead of asking for a servant.

'Ali (رضي الله عنه) narrated that Fatimah (رضي الله عنها) complained to the Prophet about marks left on her hands from making dough. Some female captives were brought to the Prophet and she went to ask him for a servant, but she did not find him so she came back. Then he came to us when we had gone to bed. I went to get up, but he said: 'Stay where you are". He came and sat down, and I could feel the coolness of his feet. And he said: "Shall I not tell you of something that is better for you than a servant? When you go to your bed, say Subhan Allah thirty three times, Alhamdulillah thirty three times and Allahu Akbar thirty four times'.

Recite salatul tasbih before going to bed

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of reciting prayers before going to bed. It was narrated by Ali ibn Abi Talib, who said that Fatimah complained to the Prophet about marks left on her hands from making dough. The Prophet then told her something better than having a servant - reciting salatul tasbih, which consists of saying "Subhan Allah" thirty three times, "Alhamdulillah" thirty three times and "Allahu Akbar" thirty four times. This prayer is meant to be said before going to sleep as it helps one focus on God and His greatness and thank Him for all His blessings. It also helps one reflect on their day and be grateful for what they have been given in life. By doing this prayer every night, one can become closer with God and develop a stronger relationship with Him through reflection and gratitude.
