Forbidden Mating of Donkeys and Mares

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) forbade people from mating a donkey with a mare.

It was narrated that 'Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: The Messenger of Allah forbade us to mate a donkey with are mare.
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ الثَّقَفِيِّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ أَنْ نُنْزِيَ حِمَارًا عَلَى فَرَسٍ‏.‏
