Hope for Ummah After One Hundred Years

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the hope of the Ummah after one hundred years, as narrated by Nu'aim bin Dijajah from Abu Mas'ood 'Uqbah bin 'Amr al-Ansari.

It was narrated from Nu'aim bin Dijajah that he said: Abu Mas'ood 'Uqbah bin 'Amr al-Ansari entered upon 'Ali bin Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه) and 'Ali said to him: Are you the one who says that in one hundred years time there will be no soul left on earth? Rather the Messenger of Allah said: 'In one hundred years time, there will be no soul left on earth of those who are alive today," By Allah, there is great hope for this ummah after one hundred years.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the hope that exists for the Muslim community even after a century has passed. It was narrated by Nu’aim bin Dijajah from Abu Mas’ood ‘Uqbah bin ‘Amr al-Ansari, who heard it from Ali ibn Abi Talib. Ali was asked if he believed that in one hundred years time there would be no soul left on earth, to which he replied with a quote from Prophet Muhammad saying that in one hundred years time there will be no soul left on earth of those who are alive today. However, Ali then added his own words saying “By Allah, there is great hope for this ummah after one hundred years”. This hadith teaches us to have faith and trust in Allah's plan and promises even when times seem difficult or uncertain; we should never lose hope because Allah always has something better planned for us in the future.
