Hope for the Ummah After One Hundred Years

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the hope of the Ummah after one hundred years, and how it will be different from those alive today.

It was narrated from Nu'aim bin Dijajah that he said: Abu Mas’ood 'Uqbah bin 'Amr al-Ansari entered upon 'Ali bin Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه) and 'Ali said to him: Are you the one who says that in one hundred years time there will be on earth no eye that blinks? Rather the Messenger of Allah said: "In one hundred years time there will be no eye that blinks left on earth of those who are alive today' By Allah there is a great hope for this ummah after one hundred years.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of a great hope for the ummah after one hundred years. Abu Masood 'Uqbah bin 'Amr al-Ansari entered upon 'Ali bin Abi Talib and asked him if he was the one who said that in one hundred years time there would be no eye that blinks left on earth of those who are alive today. To this, Ali replied by saying that it was actually the Messenger of Allah who said this. However, despite this statement being made by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Ali also mentioned that there is a great hope for this ummah after one hundred years. This hadith teaches us to have faith in Allah's promise and to always remain hopeful even when things seem bleak or uncertain. It also encourages us to look forward to a better future with optimism and trust in Allah's plan for us as an ummah.
