The Prophet's Gift to His Daughter

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad gave his daughter Fatimah a trousseau of gifts.

It was narrated that 'Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: The Messenger of Allah gave Fatimah a trousseau of a velvet garment, a waterskin and a leather pillow stuffed with idhkhir fibres.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، أَنْبَأَنَا زَائِدَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ جَهَّزَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فَاطِمَةَ فِي خَمِيلٍ وَقِرْبَةٍ وَوِسَادَةِ أَدَمٍ حَشْوُهَا لِيفُ الْإِذْخِرِ‏.‏

It also teaches us that we should be generous to our family members and provide them with whatever they need or want.
