Musnad Ahmad 639 (Book 5, Hadith 75) #34301
Reciting the Quran During Janabah

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was able to recite the Quran and eat meat with his companions, except when he was in a state of janabah.

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Salimah said: Two men and I came to 'Ali (رضي الله عنه), who said: The Messenger of Allah was relieving himself, then he came out and recited Qur'an and ate meat with us. Nothing prevented or stopped him from reciting Qur'an except janabah.
