Teaching the Qur'an in a State of Purity

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would teach the Qur'an to his companions as long as he was not in a state of ritual impurity.

It was narrated that 'Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: The Messenger of Allah would teach us Qur'an so long as he was not junub.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يُقْرِئُنَا الْقُرْآنَ مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ جُنُبًا‏.‏
