Sahih al-Bukhari 3577 (Book 61, Hadith 86) #3418
Generosity of the Prophet (ﷺ)

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) showed kindness and generosity by sharing the water from a well with 1400 people and their animals.

Narrated Al-Bara: We were one-thousand-and-four-hundred persons on the day of Al-Hudaibiya (Treaty), and (at) Al- Hudaibiya (there) was a well. We drew out its water not leaving even a single drop. The Prophet sat at the edge of the well and asked for some water with which he rinsed his mouth and then he threw it out into the well. We stayed for a short while and then drew water from the well and quenched our thirst, and even our riding animals drank water to their satisfaction.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be generous in your dealings with others , Be kind to those around you .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the generosity of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. On one occasion, 1400 people were gathered at a place called Al Hudaibiya, where there was a well with limited water. Despite this, the Prophet ﷺ shared what little water there was with everyone present and even their animals. He demonstrated kindness by not taking more than he needed for himself and instead giving it to others who needed it more than him. This hadith teaches us that we should always be generous in our dealings with others, even if we have limited resources ourselves. We should also strive to be kind to those around us, as this is an important part of being a good Muslim.
