The Wudoo of the Prophet Muhammad

SUMMARY: Uthman bin Affan asked the companions of the Prophet Muhammad if they had seen him performing wudoo in a certain way, and they confirmed that he did.

It was narrated from 'Uthman bin 'Affan (رضي الله عنه ) that he called for water and did wudoo' in al-Maqa'id. He did wudoo’, washing each part three times, then he said to the Companions of the Messenger of Allah . Did you see the Messenger of Allah doing {wudoo') like this? They said: Yes.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنِي سَالِمٌ أَبُو النَّضْرِ، عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ دَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ عِنْدَ الْمَقَاعِدِ فَتَوَضَّأَ ثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ قَالَ لِأَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ هَلْ رَأَيْتُمْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَعَلَ هَذَا قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ أَبِي هَذَا الْعَدَنِيُّ كَانَ بِمَكَّةَ مُسْتَمْلِيَ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ
