This hadith speaks about the benefits of using aloe instead of kohl when one is in ihram. It was narrated by Nubaih bin Wahb that Umar bin Ubaidullah's eye became inflamed while he was in ihram and he wanted to apply kohl to it. However, Aban bin Uthman forbade him from doing so and told him to apply aloe instead. He said that Uthman had narrated from the Prophet Muhammad that he had done this before. This shows us how beneficial aloe can be for our eyes and how it should be used as a remedy instead of kohl when we are in ihram. We can also learn from this hadith that we should always seek advice from those who are knowledgeable about certain matters before taking any action ourselves.
