Marriage Prohibitions During Ihram

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ advised against getting married, arranging a marriage or proposing marriage while in the state of ihram.

It was narrated from Aban bin 'Uthman (رضي الله عنه) from his father that the Prophet said: 'The pilgrim in ihram should not get married, arrange a marriage or propose marriage'.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ، عَنْ نُبَيْهِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ أَبَانَ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ قَالَ الْمُحْرِمُ لَا يَنْكِحُ وَلَا يُنْكِحُ وَلَا يَخْطُبُ‏.‏
