Permissible Use of Silk

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad granted a concession allowing the use of silk that was two fingers wide.

It was narrated from ʼUmar رضي الله عنه that: The Messenger of Allah granted a concession allowing silk the width of two fingers.
حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ رَخَّصَ فِي الْحَرِيرِ فِي إِصْبَعَيْنِ‏.‏
