Musnad Ahmad 172 (Book 2, Hadith 89) #33864
Property of Prophets as Charity

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that the property of prophets should not be inherited and whatever they leave behind is charity.

It was narrated that Malik bin Aws said: I heard 'Umar say to 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf, Talhah, az-Zubair and Sa'd: We adjure you by Allah, by whom heaven and earth are sustained, did you know that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our (Prophets’) property is not to be inherited and whatever we leave behind is charity'. They said: By Allah, yes,
