Sleeping While Junub

SUMMARY: It is permissible to sleep while in a state of ritual impurity (junub) after performing wudu.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar, from ʼUmar رضي الله عنه that he asked the Prophet : Can one of us sleep when he is junub? He said: "He may do wudoo’ and sleep if he wishes". On one occasion Sufyan said: 'Let him do wudoo’ and sleep'.
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ أَيَنَامُ أَحَدُنَا وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ قَالَ يَتَوَضَّأُ وَيَنَامُ إِنْ شَاءَ وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً لِيَتَوَضَّأْ وَلْيَنَمْ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith discusses the permissibility of sleeping while in a state of ritual impurity or junub. The Prophet ? was asked if one can sleep when they are junub and he said that it is permissible to do so after performing wudu. This hadith teaches us that we should perform wudu before going to bed even if we are in a state of ritual impurity as it is an act of worship and obedience to Allah SWT. Additionally, this hadith also teaches us about cleanliness and hygiene which are important values for Muslims to uphold as part of their faith.
