Musnad Ahmad 84 (Book 2, Hadith 3) #33778
The Prophet's Early Departure

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to travel before sunrise, unlike the polytheists who would wait until the sun rose.

Amr bin Maimoon said: 'Umar led us in praying Fajr in Jam', then he stood up and said: The mushrikoon used not to depart until the sun rose, but the Messenger of Allah differed from them and moved on before the sun rose.

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow discipline and punctuality when travelling. Stay true to your beliefs no matter what others do or believe.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the difference between the Prophet Muhammad and polytheists in terms of their departure time for travel. The polytheists would wait until sunrise before they departed, while the Prophet Muhammad would leave earlier than that. This shows us that he was a man of great discipline and punctuality, setting an example for us to follow in our own lives. He also showed us that we should not be influenced by what others do or believe if it goes against our faith or values; instead, we should strive to stay true to ourselves and our beliefs no matter what.
