Inheritance of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) declared that he should not be inherited from.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that Fatimah came to Abu Bakr and 'Umar to ask for her inheritance from the Messenger of Allah . They said: We heard the Messenger of Allah say: "I am not to be inherited from'.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا جَاءَتْ أَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا تَطْلُبُ مِيرَاثَهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَا إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ إِنِّي لَا أُورَثُ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the inheritance of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It was narrated by Abu Hurairah that Fatimah came to Abu Bakr and 'Umar to ask for her inheritance from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). They said they heard him say "I am not to be inherited from." This hadith teaches us that it is not permissible to inherit anything from the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as he did not leave any wealth behind. He left behind teachings and guidance for us instead. We should follow his example and strive to live a life of simplicity and humility, without accumulating too much wealth or possessions.
