QUICK LESSONS:
Seek refuge in God regularly .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by Abu Hurairah, tells us about a conversation between Prophet Muhammad and Abu Bakr. In this conversation, Prophet Muhammad taught Abu Bakr a supplication to say in the morning, evening and when going to bed. The supplication is an invocation for seeking refuge in Allah from the evil of one's own self and from shirk. It emphasizes on how important it is to seek refuge in Allah as He is the Knower of all things unseen and seen, Creator of heavens and earth, Lord and Sovereign over all things. By saying this supplication regularly we can protect ourselves from our own wrongdoings as well as any form of shirk which could lead us astray.
