Musnad Ahmad 60 (Book 1, Hadith 57) #33755
Inheritance of the Prophet (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The hadith is about Abu Bakr's response to Fatimah when she asked him who will inherit from him if he dies. He said his children and wife, and then explained that the Prophet (PBUH) cannot be inherited from, but he will sponsor those whom the Prophet used to sponsor and spend on those on whom the Prophet used to spend.

It was narrated from Abu Salamah that Fatimah said to Abu Bakr: Who will inherit from you if you die? He Said: My children and my wife. She said: Then why can't we inherit from the Prophet . He said: I heard the Prophet say: 'The Prophet is not to be inherited from". But I will sponsor those whom the Messenger of Allah used to sponsor and I will spend on those on whom the Messenger of Allah used to spend.

QUICK LESSONS:
Sponsor Those Whom The Messenger Of Allah Used To Sponsor And Spend On Those On Whom The Messenger Of Allah Used To Spend

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about inheritance and spending in relation to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It explains that although it is not permissible for anyone to inherit from him, it is important for us as Muslims to follow in his footsteps by sponsoring those whom he sponsored and spending on those who were close to him. This teaches us a valuable lesson about charity; we should strive our best in helping others even if we do not have much ourselves. We should also remember that our actions are a reflection of what our beloved prophet did during his lifetime, so we must always strive for excellence in all aspects of life.
