The Mark of Prostration and its Protection from Fire

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ taught that the Fire will not consume the mark of prostration, which Allah has forbidden it to do.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet said: "The Fire will consume all of the son of Adam except the mark of prostration. Allah has forbidden the Fire to consume the mark of prostration.’"
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَادَةَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ ـ قَالَ ‏ "‏ تَأْكُلُ النَّارُ ابْنَ آدَمَ إِلاَّ أَثَرَ السُّجُودِ حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَى النَّارِ أَنْ تَأْكُلَ أَثَرَ السُّجُودِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us about the importance of prostration in Islam. It is narrated by Abu Hurairah that the Prophet said that all of mankind will be consumed by fire except for one thing - the mark of prostration. Allah has forbidden fire to consume this mark as a sign of His mercy and protection for those who perform this act. This hadith reminds us to be grateful for Allah's blessings and to always remember Him in our prayers. It also encourages us to perform sujud regularly as a way to show our devotion and obedience towards Him.
