This hadith is about how many people from the tribe of Banu Tamim will enter paradise through the intercession of a man from among the Prophet's nation. The Prophet was asked if it would be him and he said no, it would be someone else. This hadith teaches us that we should strive to do good deeds in order to gain Allah's mercy and forgiveness so that we can be granted entrance into paradise. It also shows us that even if we are not able to do enough good deeds on our own, there is still hope for us as Allah may grant us entrance into paradise through someone else's intercession.
