EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about intercession on the day of resurrection. It was narrated by Uthman bin Affan that Prophet Muhammad said that three groups will be able to intercede for others on the day of resurrection; these are prophets, scholars and martyrs. The prophets are those who were sent by Allah to guide people in their lives and teach them about Islam. The scholars are those who have studied Islamic teachings and have a deep understanding about it. Lastly, martyrs are those who sacrificed their lives in order to protect Islam or help other Muslims in need. All these three groups will be able to intercede for others on the day when everyone will be judged according to their deeds in this world; this is known as Yawm al-Qiyamah or ‘the day of resurrection’ in Arabic language.
