Sunan Ibn Majah 4198 (Book 37, Hadith 99) #33554
Fear of Unacceptance of Good Deeds

SUMMARY: This hadith explains that a person who fasts, gives charity and prays but still fears that his deeds will not be accepted by Allah is the one referred to in the Quran.

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, 'And those who give that (their charity) which they give (and also do other good deeds) with their hearts full of fear". 23:60 Is this the one who commits adultery, steals and drinks alcohol?’ He said: 'No, O daughter of Abu Bakr’ – O daughter of Siddiq – rather it is a man who fasts and gives charity and prays, but he fears that those will not be accepted from him.’"

QUICK LESSONS:
Fast, Give charity & Pray with sincerity & faith .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains an important lesson about fear and acceptance of good deeds. It was narrated by 'Aishah, the wife of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who asked him if the verse from Quran 23:60 refers to someone who commits adultery, steals or drinks alcohol. The Prophet ﷺ replied that it does not refer to such people but rather it refers to those who fast, give charity and pray but still fear that their good deeds will not be accepted by Allah. This teaches us an important lesson about having faith in Allah's mercy and acceptance even when we are uncertain about our own actions. We should strive to do our best with sincerity and trust in Allah's mercy for accepting our deeds no matter how small they may seem.
