Sunan Ibn Majah 4036 (Book 36, Hadith 111) #33391
Treacherous Times Ahead

SUMMARY: People will come to a point where liars are seen as honest, traitors are seen as faithful and vile and base men will control the affairs of the people.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said: "There will come to the people years of treachery, when the liar will be regarded as honest, and the honest man will be regarded as a liar; the traitor will be regarded as faithful, and the faithful man will be regarded as a traitor; and the Ruwaibidah will decide matters.’ It was said: 'Who are the Ruwaibidah?’ He said: 'Vile and base men who control the affairs of the people.’"

QUICK LESSONS:
Be honest & faithful in your dealings with others; Stand up against those who make unjust decisions; Strive for justice; Respect other's opinions & beliefs; Treat everyone equally regardless of their background or status; Speak truthfully at all times; Do not lie or deceive others for personal gain.

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith is about how treacherous times will come in the future, where liars are seen as honest and traitors are seen as faithful. This is because vile and base men, known as Ruwaibidah, will be in charge of making decisions for people. This means that these decisions may not be fair or just. It is important to remember that even when these times come, we should still strive to be honest and faithful in our dealings with others. We should also try our best to make sure that justice prevails by standing up against those who make unjust decisions.
