The Curse of Cursing

SUMMARY: Allah will curse those who curse others.

It was narrated from Bara’ bin 'Azib that the Messenger of Allah said: "Allah will curse them and those who curse will curse them". He said: "The inhabitants of the earth".
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ، عَنْ زَاذَانَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ ‏"‏ ‏{يَلْعَنُهُمُ اللَّهُ وَيَلْعَنُهُمُ اللاَّعِنُونَ }‏ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏"‏ دَوَابُّ الأَرْضِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the consequences of cursing others. It was narrated by Bara bin 'Azib that the Messenger of Allah said, "Allah will curse them and those who curse will curse them." He said, "The inhabitants of the earth." This means that if someone curses another person, then not only will they be cursed by Allah but also cursed by other people. This hadith teaches us to be mindful when we speak and to think before we say something hurtful or negative about someone else. We should always strive to speak kindly and respectfully towards others as this is what pleases Allah.
