The Lineage of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and his lineage.

Narrated Kulaib bin Wail: I asked Zainab bint Abi Salama (ie daughter of the wife of the Prophet, "Tell me about the Prophet . Did he belong to the tribe of Mudar?" She replied, "Yes, he belonged to the tribe of Mudar and was from the offspring of An-Nadr bin Kinana".
حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ، حَدَّثَنَا كُلَيْبُ بْنُ وَائِلٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي رَبِيبَةُ النَّبِيِّ، زَيْنَبُ ابْنَةُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهَا أَرَأَيْتِ النَّبِيَّ أَكَانَ مِنْ مُضَرَ قَالَتْ فَمِمَّنْ كَانَ إِلاَّ مِنْ مُضَرَ مِنْ بَنِي النَّضْرِ بْنِ كِنَانَةَ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the lineage of the beloved prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It was narrated by Kulaib bin Wail who asked Zainab bint Abi Salama about the tribe to which the prophet belonged to. She replied that he belonged to the tribe of Mudar and was from the offspring of An-Nadr bin Kinana. This hadith highlights how important it is for us to know our roots and be proud of them as it is a part of our identity and culture that we should never forget or neglect.
