Sunan Ibn Majah 3961 (Book 36, Hadith 36) #33316
Tribulation and Peaceful Coexistence

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) warned of a time of tribulation and advised people to be peaceful and not to fight.

It was narrated from Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari that the Messenger of Allah said: "Before the Hour comes, there will be tribulation like pieces of black night, when a man will wake up as a believer but be a disbeliever by evening, or he will be a believer in the evening but will be a disbeliever by morning. And the one who is sitting will be better than the one who is standing, and the one who is standing will be better than the one who is walking, and the one who is walking will be better than the one who is running. So break your bows, cut their strings and strike your swords against rocks, and if anyone enters upon anyone of you, let him be like the better of the two sons of Adam. (ie the one killed, not the killer)".

QUICK LESSONS:
Show mercy towards others; remain peaceful; do not fight or cause harm; break bows & cut strings & strike swords against rocks .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ warned his followers about a time of tribulations that will come before the Day of Judgment. He advised them to remain peaceful during this time and not to fight each other or cause harm in any way. He said that it is better for one who is sitting than one who is standing, better for one who is standing than one who is walking, and better for one who is walking than one who is running. He also said that if anyone enters upon another person then they should be like the better of the two sons of Adam - meaning they should not fight or cause harm but rather show mercy towards each other as was done by Abel when he was killed by Cain instead of retaliating against him.
