Sunan Ibn Majah 3936 (Book 36, Hadith 11) #33291
The Unbeliever in Sin

SUMMARY: This hadith emphasizes that a person who commits sins such as adultery, drinking alcohol, stealing and plundering is not a believer at the time of committing these sins.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said: "The adulterer, at the time he is committing adultery, is not a believer; (the wine drinker) at the time he is drinking, is not a believer; the thief, at the time he is stealing, is not a believer; the plunderer, at the time he is plundering with the people looking on, is not a believer".

QUICK LESSONS:
Stay away from all forms of sin and strive to remain righteous so they can be true believers in Allah SWT's eyes.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of faith and righteousness in Islam. It teaches us that if we commit any sin such as adultery, drinking alcohol or stealing then we are not considered believers at that time. We must strive to stay away from all forms of sin and remain righteous in order to be true believers. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also warned us against taking part in activities like plundering which involves taking something without permission or consent from another person or group of people. He taught us that even if we do these things while others are watching us then too we will not be considered believers at that time. Therefore it is important for Muslims to stay away from all forms of sin and strive to remain righteous so they can be true believers in Allah SWT's eyes.
