Steadfastness in Religion Symbolized by Fetters

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad disliked seeing a chain around the neck in a dream, but liked to see fetters on the feet, as it symbolizes steadfastness in religion.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said: "I dislike (to see in a dream) a chain around the neck, but I like to see fetters on the feet, for fetters (represent) steadfastness in religion".
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْهُذَلِيُّ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ ‏ "‏ أَكْرَهُ الْغُلَّ وَأُحِبُّ الْقَيْدَ الْقَيْدُ ثَبَاتٌ فِي الدِّينِ
