Dreams and Prophecy

SUMMARY: Dreams of a righteous Muslim man are part of prophecy.

It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri that the Prophet said: "The dream of a righteous Muslim man is one of the seventy parts of prophecy".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، أَنْبَأَنَا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ فِرَاسٍ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ ـ قَالَ ‏ "‏ رُؤْيَا الرَّجُلِ الْمُسْلِمِ الصَّالِحِ جُزْءٌ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us that the dreams of a righteous Muslim man are part of prophecy. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that the dream of a righteous person is one seventy parts of prophecy. This means that if someone has a dream and it comes true then it is considered to be from Allah SWT and is part of His divine plan for mankind. It also teaches us to be mindful when we have dreams as they may contain messages from Allah SWT or warnings about our future actions. We should strive to be righteous in order to receive these prophetic dreams from Allah SWT.
