Sahih al-Bukhari 336 (Book 7, Hadith 3) #332
The Revelation of Tayammum

SUMMARY: The hadith is about how Allah revealed the verse of Tayammum when the Prophet and his companions were unable to perform ablution due to lack of water.

Narrated 'Urwa's father: Aisha said, "I borrowed a necklace from Asma' and it was lost. So Allah's Messenger sent a man to search for it and he found it. Then the time of the prayer became due and there was no water. They prayed (without ablution) and informed Allah's Messenger about it, so the verse of Tayammum was revealed". Usaid bin Hudair said to 'Aisha, "May Allah reward you. By Allah, whenever anything happened which you did not like, Allah brought good for you and for the Muslims in that".

QUICK LESSONS:
Have faith that God will provide solutions during difficult times ; Turn towards Him in supplication or prayer ; Do good deeds ; Be patient ; Show gratitude .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us an important lesson about how God always provides solutions when we are in need or difficulty. In this case, when Prophet Muhammad ﷺand his companions were unable to perform ablution due to lack of water before prayer time, God revealed a new verse called ‘Tayammum’ which allowed them to pray without performing ablution with water if they could not find any available source nearby. This teaches us that even in difficult times we should have faith that God will provide us with solutions if we turn towards Him in prayer or supplication. It also shows us how our actions can be rewarded by God as He blessed Aisha with His mercy after she faced difficulty while trying her best to do something good by returning what she borrowed from Asma'.
