Seeking Forgiveness and Repentance

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) seeks forgiveness from Allah and repents to Him one hundred times each day.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that : the Messenger of Allah (SAWS) said: 'I seek the forgiveness of Allah and repent to Him one hundred times each day'.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ ‏ "‏ إِنِّي لأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ فِي الْيَوْمِ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ
