The Commandment to Extinguish Lamps

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad commanded his followers to extinguish their lamps.

It was narrated that Jabir said: "The Messenger of Allah commanded us (to do some things) and forbade us (to do some things), and he commanded us to extinguish our lamps".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ وَنَهَانَا فَأَمَرَنَا أَنْ نُطْفِئَ سِرَاجَنَا

This hadith is about the commandment of the Prophet Muhammad for his followers to extinguish their lamps. It was narrated by Jabir that the Messenger of Allah commanded them to do so. We should also be mindful of our actions and how they can affect others, as in this case, extinguishing a lamp can help conserve energy and resources for others who may need it more than us.
