Chasing Pigeons is Like Chasing Devils

SUMMARY: The Prophet saw a man chasing a pigeon and warned him that it was like a male devil chasing a female devil.

It was narrated from Uthman bin Affan that the Messenger of Allah saw a man following a pigeon and said: "A male devil chasing a female devil".
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ الطَّائِفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ ـ رَأَى رَجُلاً وَرَاءَ حَمَامَةٍ فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ شَيْطَانٌ يَتْبَعُ شَيْطَانَةً

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad saw someone chasing after a pigeon and warned him that it was similar to the behavior of the devils. He said that it was like “a male devil chasing after a female devil”. This hadith teaches us to be mindful of our actions, as even seemingly harmless activities can be seen as immoral or wrong in the eyes of Allah. We should always strive to do what is right and avoid doing anything that could be seen as wrong or sinful. We should also remember that we are being watched by Allah at all times, so we must always act with integrity and honesty in order to please Him.
