Hair Removal in Islam

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) would apply hair removing chemical to his private area and his wife would do the remainder of his body.

It was narrated from Umm Salamah that when the Prophet would apply (it): he began with his private area, coating it with hair removing chemical. And his wife would do the remainder of his body.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ الرُّمَّانِيِّ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ ـ كَانَ إِذَا اطَّلَى بَدَأَ بِعَوْرَتِهِ فَطَلاَهَا بِالنُّورَةِ وَسَائِرَ جَسَدِهِ أَهْلُهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) practice of hair removal. It was narrated by Umm Salamah that when the Prophet applied it, he began with his private area and then his wife would do the remainder of his body. This hadith shows us that even though hair removal is not a mandatory part of Islam, it is still an accepted practice as long as it is done in a respectful manner. It also teaches us that men and women should be respectful towards each other when performing any kind of ritual or activity together. Furthermore, this hadith also serves as an example for Muslims to follow in terms of modesty and respect for one another's privacy.
