The Reward of Giving Water

SUMMARY: Giving water to any living being is rewarded by Allah.

It was narrated that Suraqah bin Ju'shum said: "I asked the Messenger of Allah about a lost camel that comes to my cisterns that I have prepared for my own camels - will I be rewarded if I give it some water to drink? He said: Yes, in every living being there is reward'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Give water or help those in need whenever possible.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that even the smallest acts of kindness are rewarded by Allah. It was narrated by Suraqah bin Ju'shum that he asked the Prophet Muhammad about a lost camel coming to his cisterns, which were prepared for his own camels, and whether he would be rewarded if he gave it some water to drink. The Prophet Muhammad replied in the affirmative, saying that in every living being there is reward. This hadith encourages us to be kind and generous towards all living beings as we will be rewarded for our good deeds no matter how small they may seem. We should always strive to do good deeds and help those in need as this will bring us closer to Allah and earn His blessings.
