Kindness and Generosity towards Neighbours

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was advised by Jibra'il to be kind and generous to one's neighbours.

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah said: "Jibra'il kept enjoining good treatment of neighbours until I thought he would make neighbours heirs".
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ ‏ "‏ مَا زَالَ جِبْرَائِيلُ يُوصِينِي بِالْجَارِ حَتَّى ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ سَيُوَرِّثُهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the importance of being kind and generous to one's neighbours. It is narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah said, "Jibra'il kept enjoining good treatment of neighbours until I thought he would make them heirs". This hadith emphasizes the importance of having a good relationship with our neighbours, as it is an act that pleases Allah. We should treat our neighbours with kindness, generosity, respect and compassion. We should not cause any harm or distress to them in any way. Furthermore, we should help them when they are in need and be supportive when they are facing difficulties. In this way we can build strong relationships with our neighbours which will benefit us all in the long run.
