Making Use of Resources

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised people to make use of the resources available to them.

It was narrated that Salman said: "One of the Mothers of the Believers had a sheep that died. The Messenger of Allah passed by it and said: 'It would not have harmed its owners if they had made use of its hide.’"
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ، قَالَ كَانَ لِبَعْضِ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ شَاةٌ فَمَاتَتْ فَمَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ مَا ضَرَّ أَهْلَ هَذِهِ لَوِ انْتَفَعُوا بِإِهَابِهَا

Make use of whatever resources you have available in order to benefit from them and do not waste any opportunity or resource but instead utilize it for your own benefit as well as for others around you .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of making use of resources. It was narrated by Salman that one of the Mothers of the Believers had a sheep that died and when Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) passed by it, he said that it would not have harmed its owners if they had made use of its hide. This teaches us to be resourceful and make use of whatever resources we have available in order to benefit from them. We should not waste any opportunity or resource but instead utilize it for our own benefit as well as for others around us.
