Pride and Vanity in Clothing

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) warned against wearing garments of pride and vanity, as Allah will punish those who do so on the Day of Resurrection.

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Umar said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever wears a garment of pride and vanity in this world, Allah will clothe him in a garment of humiliation on the Day of Resurrection, then set it ablaze.’"

QUICK LESSONS:
Wear modest clothing , Be humble , Respect others

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us that we should not wear clothing that is meant to show off our wealth or status. He warned us that if we do, Allah will punish us by making us wear a garment of humiliation on the Day of Resurrection, and then set it ablaze. This hadith teaches us to be humble in our clothing choices and not to show off or boast about what we have. We should remember that Allah knows all things, so there is no need for us to try to impress others with our clothes. Instead, we should focus on pleasing Him by being modest in our dress and behavior.
