Length of Women's Hem

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ taught that a woman's hem should hang down to either a hand span or forearm length.

It was narrated from 'Aishah that the Prophet said, concerning how long a woman’s hem should hang down: "A hand span"'.Aishah said: "This may show her calves". He said: "Then a forearm’s length".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَبِيبٌ الْمُعَلِّمُ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَزِّمِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ ـ قَالَ فِي ذُيُولِ النِّسَاءِ ‏"‏ شِبْرًا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ إِذًا تَخْرُجَ سُوقُهُنَّ ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏"‏ فَذِرَاعٌ
