Proper Way of Wearing Lower Wrap

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught Hudhaifah the proper way to wear the lower wrap of clothing, emphasizing that it should not come down to the ankle.

It was narrated that Hudhaifah said: "The Messenger of Allah took hold of the lower part of my calf or his calf and said: 'This is where the lower wrap should come to. If you insist, then lower, and if you insist, then lower, but the lower wrap has no right to (come to) the ankle.’"

QUICK LESSONS:
Dress modestly according to Islamic teachings; Be mindful of clothing choices; Strive for modesty in all aspects of life; Wear a lower wrap up until one's calf or ankle depending on preference.

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Hudhaifah ibn al-Yaman tells us about how the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught him about wearing clothing properly. He took hold of his calf and said that the lower wrap should come up to there, but if he insisted then it could be lowered further, however it should never go down to the ankle. This teaches us that we must dress modestly and appropriately according to Islamic teachings. We must also be mindful of our clothing choices and make sure they are in line with Islamic values. We must also remember that modesty is important in Islam and we should strive for this in all aspects of our lives, including our dress code.
