The Relationship Between Prophet Muhammad and Jesus

SUMMARY: This hadith explains the relationship between Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Jesus (PBUH).

Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Messenger saying, "I am the nearest of all the people to the son of Mary, and all the prophets are paternal brothers, and there has been no prophet between me and him (ie Jesus).
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عَنْهُ ـ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ أَنَا أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِابْنِ مَرْيَمَ، وَالأَنْبِيَاءُ أَوْلاَدُ عَلاَّتٍ، لَيْسَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ نَبِيٌّ
