Sunan Ibn Majah 3518 (Book 31, Hadith 83) #32872
The Power of Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) taught that if one recites a specific prayer, they will be protected from harm.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "A scorpion stung a man and he did not sleep all the night. It was said to the Prophet : 'So- and-so was stung by a scorpion and he did not sleep all the night.’ He said: 'If he had said, last night: A’udhu bikalimatil-lahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq (I seek refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah from the evil of that which He has created), the scorpion sting would not have harmed him, until morning.’"

QUICK LESSONS:
Seek refuge in Allah's perfect words for protection against any evil or harm

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us the power of prayer and how it can protect us from harm. It was narrated by Abu Hurairah that a man was stung by a scorpion and did not sleep all night. When the Prophet (PBUH) heard this, he said that if the man had recited a certain prayer before going to bed, he would have been protected from the sting until morning. This shows us how powerful our prayers are and how we should always seek refuge in Allah's perfect words for protection against any evil or harm. We should also remember to recite this special prayer every night before going to bed so we can be safe from any danger or difficulty that may come our way.
