The Benefits of Camel Milk and Urine

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad advised some people to drink the milk and urine of camels as a remedy for their aversion to the climate of Madinah.

It was narrated from Anas that some people from Uraina came to the Messenger of Allah but they were averse to the climate of Al- Madinah. He said: "Why don’t you go out to a flock of camels of ours, and drink their milk and urine". And they did that.
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ نَاسًا، مِنْ عُرَيْنَةَ قَدِمُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ ـ فَاجْتَوَوُا الْمَدِينَةَ فَقَالَ ـ ـ ‏ "‏ لَوْ خَرَجْتُمْ إِلَى ذَوْدٍ لَنَا فَشَرِبْتُمْ مِنْ أَلْبَانِهَا وَأَبْوَالِهَا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَفَعَلُوا

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the advice given by Prophet Muhammad to some people from Uraina who were averse to the climate of Al-Madinah. He suggested that they should go out and drink the milk and urine of camels as a remedy for their discomfort. This hadith teaches us that there are many remedies in nature which can be used for healing purposes. It also shows us how compassionate Prophet Muhammad was towards his followers; he was willing to provide them with any help he could offer in order to make them feel better. Furthermore, this hadith also highlights the importance of taking care of animals; it is important that we treat animals with kindness so that they can provide us with nourishment when needed.
