Sunan Ibn Majah 3465 (Book 31, Hadith 30) #32819
Helping the Prophet in Times of Need

SUMMARY: On the day of Uhud, Fatimah and Ali helped the Prophet Muhammad in treating his wounds.

It was narrated from 'Abdul-Muhaimin bin 'Abbas bin Sahl bin Sa’d As- Sa’idi, from his father, that his grandfather said: "On the Day of Uhud, I recognized the one who wounded the face of the Messenger of Allah , the one who was washing the blood from the face of the Messenger of Allah and treating him, and the one who was bringing the water in a shield, and with what the wound was treated until the bleeding stopped. The one who was carrying the water in the shield was 'Ali. The one who was treating the wound was Fatimah. When the bleeding would not stop, she burned a piece of a worn out mat and applied the ashes to it (the wound), then the bleeding stopped.

QUICK LESSONS:
Help those in need
EXPLANATIONS:
On the day of Uhud battle, when Prophet Muhammad was wounded on his face and was bleeding profusely. His daughter Fatimah and cousin Ali came to help him. They washed off the blood from his face and tried to stop it from bleeding by using a shield to bring water for treatment. When that did not work they burned a piece of an old mat and applied its ashes on the wound which stopped it from bleeding. This hadith shows us how important it is to help those in need especially our beloved prophet Muhammad who is an example for us all. It also teaches us that even small things can be used for good purposes if we put our minds into it like burning a piece of an old mat can be used as medicine in times of need.
