Sunan Ibn Majah 3446 (Book 31, Hadith 11) #32800
The Benefits of Eating Unpleasant Foods

SUMMARY: Eating beneficial things, even if they are unpleasant, is important for health.

It was narrated from 'Aishah that the Prophet said: "You should eat the beneficial thing that is unpleasant to eat: Talbinah," meaning broth. If any member of the family of the Messenger of Allah was sick, the cooking pot would remain on the fire until one of two things happened, either the person recovered or died.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us the importance of eating beneficial foods that may not be pleasant to eat. It was narrated by 'Aishah that the Prophet said "You should eat the beneficial thing that is unpleasant to eat; Talbinah," meaning broth. This means that even if a food doesn't taste good or isn't enjoyable to eat, it can still be good for our health and we should make an effort to consume it. Furthermore, this hadith also tells us about how much care and attention the Prophet gave his family when one of them was sick; he would keep a cooking pot on the fire until either they recovered or passed away. This shows us how much love and compassion he had for his family members and how important it is for us to take care of our loved ones when they are ill.
