Sunan Ibn Majah 3440 (Book 31, Hadith 5) #32794
Generosity and Kindness towards the Sick

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ taught us to be generous and kind to those who are sick, by providing them with whatever they need.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Prophet visited a man (who was sick) and said to him: "What do you desire?" He said: "I want wheat bread". The Prophet said: "Whoever has wheat bread, let him send it to his brother". Then the Prophet said: "When a sick person among you desires something, give it to him".

QUICK LESSONS:
Provide whatever the sick person needs; Show kindness through words and actions; Be generous towards those in distress.
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us that we should always be generous and kind to those who are sick. He demonstrated this by visiting a man who was ill, asking him what he desired, and then telling others that whoever had wheat bread should send it to his brother. This hadith teaches us that when someone is in need of something, we should do our best to provide it for them. We can also show kindness through our words and actions when interacting with people who are ill or in distress. By doing so, we can help make their situation a little bit easier.
